Lehighton Education & Athletic Foundation (LEAF) is an independent non-profit corporation for the benefit and enhancement of the Lehighton (PA) Area School District students, faculty, and community. Read about LEAF by clicking here.

Among other activities, LEAF has established a program that allows the installation of brick and tile pavers to commemorate noteworthy individuals, groups, and organizations at the entrance to the Lehighton Multi-Purpose Stadium of the Lehighton Area High School (LAHS).

The paver pictured above is installed at the stadium entrance (in the position indicated by the red circles) in memory of Mary Jane (Stimmel) Eckhart - LHS 1953. Mary Jane was well-known and well-liked among her classmates as well as among the other students and teachers at LHS. The following pictures are indicative of her talents and involvement in school activities during her tenure at LHS (1947-1953).
